First Fall Chapter Meeting

Thanks to everyone who made it to our first meeting! For those who couldn't be there, here's what you need to know:

 

• Fall 2014 dues will be collected at the September 18 and October 16 meetings. Anyone who has not paid dues by October time will not be considered a full member. Dues are $25 for returning members and $50 for new members (including polo shirt). Dues double if you do not join National SHRM. Visit the SHRM Student tab for a direct link to the application.

• We will be adding a new officer position - the Liason Officer. See description under Chapter Leadership. If you are interested in this position, please email angeloshrm@gmail.com with a brief message about your qualifications. Voting will happen at the September 18 meeting after dues are collected.

• New committees are being formed: Professional Development, Community Relations, Internal Communications, Recruiting, Fundraising, & Career Development. We would like for all members to take part in at least one committee - see descriptions on the Committees page.

• Dues-paid members will vote on September 18 regarding changing Officer term periods from May-April instead of January-December, in order to follow the SHRM Merit Award year term.

• We will be getting volunteers at the October meeting for Case Team for the SHRM SWC Regional Student Conference, with team members being locked in by November. 

• The SHRM Assurance of Learning certification was discussed.
